Have you ever wondered about those ''work-from-home'' scheme?

Well, it turns out that most of these schemes are actually scams out to cheat people of their money. A legit work-from-home scheme will never ask you for upfront payment and they can always deduct from your first paid assignment. So please scrutinize and look for reviews before trying them out.

However, here I'm going to recommend a website for you that allows you to be paid just by reading emails. It has been around for 5 years already and is open to all world-wide users. The extra may not be alot but at least it pays. I have just received my first SGD $10 last week and I can testify to that.

Basically, it is free to sign up and every month, they will send you emails which are advertisements. You have to click on these advertisements to be credited with points and at the end of the month, the points will be converted to cash. After you reach SGD $10, you will be able to cash out your money.

You may want to check it out at http://tinyurl.com/emailcashprogram

Why I play Monster Forest (4)

Hello! Its me again... I'm here to share another reason why I'm playing monster forest online.
The reason which kept me playing monster forest online is my Guild- Affinity and the great guildmates I have over here. I joined Affinity since MFO Closed Beta and rejoined them in MFO Open Beta.

When u log into the game and your fellow guildies say hi to it, its so heartwarming. Its great to have people greeting you when you come online and greeting you good night when your are going to slp. It makes your day so much better. And a Guild makes you feel at home. When you need to do daily quests, you can always find someone to do it with you, or when you need some help somewhere, you can be sure that someone out there is willing to help you.

Personally, I love helping my fellow guildies. Its gives me a sense of satisfaction when they are happy after completing their quest. A guild is more than just a cluster of people. Its just like your family. You care and show concern for one another and help each other in times of need. =)

So dont hestiate! come join us at http://www.monsterforestsea.com/

Why I Play Monster Forest (3)

One of the reasons I playing Monster Forest.. well .. its the massive amount of pets! Its simply awesome. There are 8 species in all and more than a hundred pets to choose from, each being either a unique form or haveing stage of evolution. I'm sure each and everyone will have their own preference for pets in monster forest. Personally , I think the potato ninja is very cute. Looks like a baby. So is a pink clover!

Recently , I saw rare pets such as the Polar tiger, czech girl, arab girl and recently, the osidian rhino! The rhino looks really cute too. How I wish I could have some of these exotic pets!

Therefore, I cant wait to catch all of the various pets in Monster Forest. I believe there will be a lot more pets coming out in the next patch. A very much awaited pet in the next patch would probably be agate lion. I have already heard some people wanting to catch once the next patch arrives. Im hoping that more cute pets will be released soon! Kawaii!

Come join me at http://www.monsterforestsea.com/

Why I play Monster Forest? (2)

Hello everyone! =D Its been nearly a month since obt started and I have discovered tons of new stuff which I shall share over here.

Firstly, for 2nd Gen Pets, after evolving, there will be drop in levels, but fear not.. for I shall introduce this wonderful place called Core of the Mine! Ever saw it in a quest list but wondering how to go in? Well, to enter Core of the Mine, firstly , you have got to have a 2nd gen pet (evolved once) and a passport to core of the mine. Passports are sold at 1gold shell each at the entrance of Sanctuary Mine. The other alternative is to go to valkan(described later on) to dig and obtain it. For Core of the Mine, You travel inside by rolling a die. If you land on a monster, then you have to fight iy. The experience points gained inside is really awesome. So much that you will keep paying to go in. Within a short while , you will see yrself regaining the lost levels after evolution. The way the exp points jumps makes one feel so excited.

Next, we shall talk about valkan . Valkan is definitely one of my favourite place/feature in this game. Firstly , valkan is divided into 3 gates. Valkan Newbie gate is for lv 1 -35 , Valkan Explorer gate is for lv 36 - 50 and lastly Valkan Party gate is for lv 51-60. The exact daily timings for all three valkan can be found at the top right side of the game browser. Valkan can really net you very good drops if you are lucky. I shall classify them into three categories.

Expensive Drops: Pet Eggs (Croco, Floral Ball, Black Cat, Ice Monster etc) Plat and Gold catcher, Advanced Jewel

Normal Drops: Randal Opal, Haye Coins , Mini Megaphone, Arena ticket, Core of Mine Passport etc

Lousy Drops: When a red orb nets you nothing!

Be warned that Valkan is a free pk map, that is, if someone initiates a pvp on you, you do not have the option to reject, so it is wise to pair up with guildmates or friends in a party of 5 when you go into valkan. If you get pked and you lose, theres a chance you may drop the items obtainable from valkan.

The opening hours for valkan are 1 hour each daily on weekdays and 2 hours each on weekends. Do visit valkan and you may be the next lucky owner of a croco!

More details to be found at http://www.monsterforestsea.com

So what are you waiting for? I was even thrilled to find out that CBT opens on 4 May 2010 , which was the last day of my exam. And of course, you guessed it! I took part in the CBT of MFO.

So , Why do I play Monster Forest?

Firstly, there are many different species of pets in monster forest. With 8 species to choose from and over 100 different pets in monster forest, you are spoiled for choice. There are the evil-looking ones, the weird ones and the cute ones. Its just like pokemon, you gotta catch them all. I hope to be able to catch all of the pets one day.. yea .. sounds impossible right now , but.. nothing is impossible right?

Secondly, the mix and match feature of skill cards is another draw. I like the way skill cards can be interchanged now and then. What works now may not be the best in another situation. You got to trial and error to find out the best combination against each boss and in pvp fights, be it 1v1 or in a party.

Thirdly, miniland! The miniland feature is totally a plus plus plus! haha.. I always enjoy farming. Its something you wont really experience in real life, so might as well use farming to enrich your online experience. I enjoy feeding the chickens and harvesting the crops. And this miniland requires the correct season and timing for the crops to be planted. Challenging but realistic.

More details to be found at:
http://www.monsterforestsea.com/

So what are you waiting for? Managed to reset the password and log into the account.. How time really flies.. Taking a look back at my wishlist and to-do-list of last year, I realised I have gotten most of the stuff and goals that I had set out to do. Great sense of accomplishment! =) I'm currently working towards the last item on my wishlist.. which is a new labtop. Still comtemplating on whether to get a new MACbook PRO or maybe some other labtops brands like SONY or Dell. Definitely not ACER.

Currently having 3 months holidays ... being able to slack everyday is great. The last sem was v stressful.. esp during the exam period.. well.. at least its all over now. =)

Another interesting News

Missing mobile found inside fish

A businessman who lost his mobile phone on a beach was amazed when it turned up - in the belly of a giant cod.

Andrew Cheatle thought it had been swept out to sea after it slipped from his pocket.

But a week later his girlfriend's mobile rang and it was fisherman Glen Kerley saying he'd found the phone in a 25lb fish, reports The Sun.

Andrew got the handset back, dried it out - and amazingly it still works.

Andrew, 45, said: "I was messing about with my dog and my phone must have fallen out and been swept out in the swell. I kept calling it but I gave up hope after a couple of days."

He was shopping for a new phone with girlfriend Rita Smith, 33, when her mobile went off.

She told him: "Your old mobile number is calling my phone."

Andrew continued: "She said some guy was going on about my phone and a cod so she handed it over to me and he told me where he had found it.

"I thought he was winding me up but he assured me he had caught a cod that morning and was gutting it for his fish stall and that my Nokia was inside it - a bit worse for wear."

Glen, of Worthing, West Sussex, said: "Cod are greedy fish - they'll eat anything. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1) People have different ways of calling me. Some call me by Beng Kian , some call me Ah Beng, some call me bk.

2)I love it when strong winds are blowing at me. It allows me to forget any current problems and worries I might have. I used to go to the highest level of my HDB flat to feel the strong wind whenever I am feeling down.

3)People always think I'm very quiet. Every year in my end of year report book , the teacher will always comment that I need to speak up more. I'm quiet most of the time and prefer to listen rather than talk. But I can talk alot if I want to and if you are my friend. Strangers... hmm..

4)I made a comment in primary 3 during maths lesson saying that the maths lesson was too easy and boring and the teacher scolded me, saying that I should consider about other people who might not understand the lesson yet.

5)I don't own a mp3. Never once in my entire life. But I do listen to songs

6)I won a silver medal for hurdles in secondary two

7)I used to play soccer a lot in my primary school days and was thinking soccer would be the sports for me even when I grow older. I seldom play soccer nowadays. I play basketball

8)I joined computer club as a cca in secondary school because I think that uniform groups are pieces of crap that resorted to tricking and bluffing people with fake promises of cca points and rewards in order for them to gain record high number of members every year. I also refused to believe that uniform group would pave an easier path for you in army. I was right.

9)I won a silver medal for the maths olympiad in secondary 3. I didn't expect it and was rather surprised when I was told of it.

10)If I dislike someone, I don't show it to the person directly. I will always try to get someone to hint to that person.

11)I wanted to go NYJC intially but i went to JJC instead because of some reasons.

12)I misunderstood one of my close friend during the last month of primary 6(after PSLE) and used a bottle to whack his head.

13)I was with the table tennis team in primary school and thought of continuing it as a CCA in secondary school. But the passion just died off

14)I have played a lot of MMORPGs(Massive Mutliplayer Online Role-Playing Game) till date and I used to spend up lots of hours playing those MMORPGs. My record was 16 hours in a whole day with breakfast, lunch and dinner by the computer. My motto when playing MMORPGs is : Be the best player or don't play it at all.

15)I was a game Marshall during the World Cyber Games 2005 when the Grand Finals was held in Singapore Suntec Convention Hall. I finished playing the story mode of Dead OR Alive on xbox during that few days as a game marshall.

16)I didn't laugh or seldom laugh when watching comedy movies. Its not that I dun understand them but rather I don't find those contents funny while most of the people in the cinema are always laughing. Exceptions are some Jack Neo movies and some Zhou Xing Ci movies

17)I have a high level of tolerance but if you really make me go beyond my limit, you will get a volcano eruption from me.

18)I have a blog

19)I hate eating garlic, ginger, onion, vinegar, yam, peppermint and sweets. Don't bother to offer me any sweets if you do read this, I will just reject politely you every time.

20)I used to want to take accounting as a degree in university. But I changed my mind after realising that I wouldn't want to audit accounts for the rest of my working life

21)I learned abacus when I was young and I failed grade 3 abacus(mental) exams because my parents stood outside the exam classroom watching and made me distracted

22)I only completed 3 books up till now in my entire life. Of which 2 are literature books which I have to complete for my literature in sec 1 and 2. I get bored easily when reading books.

23)I used to use pencils till they are really really short, so short that they cant be sharpened by a sharpener(those big ones with a turning wheel) and I always keep them in my pencil box in secondary school.

24)I hated music lessons in primary school. Music lessons and the stupid recorder! Maybe it was the teacher who loved to threaten to give demerit points to students who did not revise the lessons at home.

25)I dislike mosquitoes and I believe they are the most useless piece of living thing in this planet. I have always thought of rearing Venus Fly trap plants to rid my surroundings of them. I hate cockroaches and ants too.

Interesting News

Daisy the cow has more milk

LONDON - COWS with names like Daisy, Gertrude or Buttercup produce more milk than their sisters with no names, according to a British study released on Wednesday.

Cattle who are given 'the personal touch' can produce up to 284 litres of milk a year, said experts at Newcastle University in northeast England.

'Just as people respond better to the personal touch, cows also feel happier and more relaxed if they are given a bit more one-to-one attention,' said Catherine Douglas, who conducted the research.

'By placing more importance on the individual, such as calling a cow by her name or interacting with the animal more as it grows up, we not only improve the animal's welfare and her perception of humans, but also increase milk production,' she added.

Almost half of those surveyed - 46 per cent - said the cows on their farms had individual names.

Dairy farmer Dennis Gibb from the Eachwick Red House Farm outside Newcastle said it was 'vitally important' to treat cows individually. 'They aren't just our livelihood - they're part of the family.

'We love our cows here at Eachwick and every one of them has a name. Collectively we refer to them as 'our ladies' but we know every one of them and each one has her own personality.'

The study was compiled by Newcastle University's School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, based on interviews with 516 dairy farmers, and published in the online journal Anthrozoos. -- AFP

Its really interesting to see the different sides of the world.

Inspiration

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 130px; height: 95px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_EQQR6I0mJFo/SX6h0pp15CI/AAAAAAAAAA8/nk7FlatzghA/s320/Flowers.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5295848137740903458" />
I read about this inspirating story which I am about to share with you all.

A story that could inspire you for the rest of your life...

Several times my daughter had telephoned to say,
"Mother, you must come to see the daffodils before they are over."
I wanted to go, but it was a two-hour drive from Laguna to Lake Arrowhead
"I will come next Tuesday",
I promised a little reluctantly on her third call.

Next Tuesday dawned cold and rainy.
Still, I had promised, and reluctantly I drove there.
When I finally walked into my daughter Carolyn's
house I was welcomed by the joyful sounds of happy children.
I delightedly hugged and greeted my grandchildren.

I told my daughter, "Forget the daffodils, Carolyn!
The road is invisible in these clouds and fog, and
there is nothing in the world except you and my grandchildren
that I want to see right now. I don't want to drive another inch!"

My daughter smiled calmly and said,
"We drive in this weather all the time, mother."

"Well, you won't get me back on the road until it clears,
and then I'm heading for home!" I assured her.

"But first we're going to see the daffodils.
It's just a few blocks," Carolyn said. "I'll drive. I'm used to this."

"Carolyn," I said sternly,

"It's all right, Mother, I promise.
You will never forgive yourself if you miss this experience."

So we went!
After about twenty minutes, we turned onto a small gravel road
and I saw a small church. On the far side of the church,
I saw a hand lettered sign with an arrow that read,

"Daffodil Garden ---->"

We got out of the car, each of us took a child's hand,
and I followed Carolyn down the path.
Then, as we turned a corner, I looked up and gasped.
Before me lay the most glorious sight.
It looked as though someone had taken
a great vat of gold and poured it over the mountain peak
and its surrounding slopes.

The flowers were planted in majestic,
swirling patterns, great ribbons
and swaths of deep orange,
creamy white, lemon yellow, salmon pink,
and saffron and butter yellow.
Each different-colored variety was planted
in large groups so that it swirled
and flowed like its own river with its own unique hue.

There were five acres of flowers!

"Who did this?" I asked Carolyn.
"Just one woman," Carolyn answered.
"She lives on the property. That's her home."
Carolyn pointed to a well-kept A-frame house,
small and modestly sitting in the midst of all that glory.

We walked up to the house.
On the patio, we saw a poster.

"Answers to the Questions I Know You Are Asking"
was the headline.

The first answer was a simple one. "50,000 bulbs," it read.

The second answer was, "One at a time, by one woman. Two hands, two feet, and one brain."

The third answer was, "Began in 1958."

For me, that moment was a life-changing experience.
I thought of this woman whom I had never met,
who, more than forty years before, had begun,
one bulb at a time, to bring her vision
of beauty and joy to an obscure mountaintop.

Planting one bulb at a time, year after year,
this unknown woman had forever changed
the world in which she lived.
One day at a time, she had created something
of extraordinary magnificence, beauty, and inspiration.

The principle her daffodil garden taught me
is one of the greatest principles of celebration.
That is, learning to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time.

"It makes me sad in a way," I admitted to Carolyn.
"What might I have accomplished
if I had thought of a wonderful goal thirty-five
or forty years ago and had worked away at it
'one bulb at a time' through all those years?

Just think what I might have been able to achieve!"
My daughter summed up the message of the day
in her usual direct way.

"Start tomorrow," she said.

She was right.
It's so pointless to think of the lost hours of yesterdays.
The way to make learning a lesson of celebration
instead of a cause for regret is to only ask,

"How can I put this to use today?"

The Daffodil Principle.

Stop waiting.....
Until your car or home is paid off
Until you get a new car or home
Until your kids leave the house
Until you go back to school
Until you finish school
Until you clean the house
Until you organize the garage
Until you clean off your desk
Until you lose 10 lbs.
Until you gain 10 lbs.
Until you get married
Until you get a divorce
Until you have kids
Until the kids go to school
Until you retire
Until summer
Until spring
Until winter
Until fall
Until you die...

There is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
So work like you don't need money.
Love like you've never been hurt,
and, Dance like no one's watching.

If you want to brighten someone's day,
pass this on to someone special (like I did to you!)

Wishing you a beautiful, daffodil day!
Don't be afraid that your life will end,
be afraid that it will never begin.

- Author unknown

Now and Then

Can u imagine the change in yrself 10 years down the road? Well, frankly.. i have no idea. But ME now and Me years ago was definitely way way different. I use to keep to myself and seldom communicate with anyone. You can say that I dislike talking to others. Yup, when I'm in a big group, normally the others are chatting and talking and I will just sit in and listen, most of the times keeping any comments to myself. Maybe my self-esteem was quite low then.

It got better when I went to JC. I started to talk more , but not that significantly obvious. Even when I went on a Overseas CIP trip to Manado and we had to interact with the students from the international school, I felt quite uncomfortable and reluctantly forced my self to talk to them. Most of the comments throughout my years studying, was always hinting that I should speak up more.

But I guess, having taken up a job in customer service helped me a lot. At least I gain confidence in myself and is not afraid to speak up more. Serving the customers daily just helps, I guess.

So ... while I'm still constantly looking in the mirror, hoping to see a reflection of myself 10 years later... there are things I need to do to improve myself.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently, I was just browsing through my computer and saw the High School Musical Songs and decided to listen to them. Really made me feel like watching the whole series again. Inside my mind, I was thinking... What relevance had that question to do with me ordering a Zinger Meal?

(For those that still had no idea what was I talking about till now... all Zinger burger consists of only crispy chicken patty. )

Luckily the counter girl managed to realise it quickly and proceed on with my order.
Otherwise I would have to correct her and she would feel embarrassed. What stuff? Expensive and brand new stuff like Playstation Portable(PSP), Nitendo DS Lite, brand new expensive handphones, 3G phones and I've even saw one young boy whose age should be about 8 having a iphone as his personal handphone.

Wow... I only had a gameboy at the age of 12?

The question is whether it is necessary for young children to own and have such expensive stuff? I believe that giving them such expensive gifts will not only spoil them but also tune their mindset to one such that material gains will be of priority. Let's say a young child at owns a Samsung Omnia 8gb at the age of maybe 10, given as a gift by his parent, then will the child request for a car at the age of 18? Maybe the example is a bit exaggerating but definitely the child will grow up thinking that expensive stuff are necessary for their happiness and continue to pursue even more.

Well, its good to own such great game consoles and handphones , (some of which are even way better than mine), but having them at such a young age... I wonder if I should feel happy or worried for them.

Wishlist update

As a start for 2009, I have made some changes to my wishlist. They are there to constantly remind me of the goals I'm working towards. I believe making short term goals are the key to unlocking success in long terms ones. If you just set yourself a long term goal and start working towards it, you may lose patience in the process and decide to give up on it. That's what most people do , work hard , don't see much progress , get disheartened and then give up. Unless you are one of the minority who can really have that much patience.

Thus, its more realistic to set short term goals that are vital in helping you achieve your long term goals. As least you know you are going somewhere and won't tend to go off track. Let's say you want to go for a long holiday in California. Of course , you need to save up enough for the trip and in turn u need to find a job/ income source to start saving up. Those two would be your short term goals which will help u achieve yr long term goal of going on a long holiday to California.

Alright , that's all the addition to my list right now. Will add more when I have more things that I crave for.

An End

Been v tired these few days ... but well.. 2008 is finally over. It has a super high rating of 8.25/10 .

Description of the game:

The object of Power Grid is to supply the most cities with power when someone's network gains a predetermined size. In this new edition, players mark pre-existing routes between cities for connection, and then bid against each other to purchase the power plants that they use to power their cities.

However, as plants are purchased, newer more efficient plants become available, so by merely purchasing you're potentially allowing others access to superior equipment.

Additionally, players must acquire the raw materials (coal, oil, garbage and uranium) needed to power said plants (except for the 'renewable' windfarm/ solar plants which require no fuel), making it a constant struggle to upgrade your plants for maximum efficiency while still retaining enough wealth to quickly expand your network to get the cheapest routes.

And there are even expansion sets for the game!

The expansions Power Grid - Italy/France, Power Grid - Benelux/Central Europe and Power Grid - Korea/China include new double-sided game boards. These change the game by not only changing the characteristics of the geography, but also by changing the rules for power plant availability, resource availability, tying plant ownership and/or resource availability and/or price to geographic regions on the map, etc.

The game has obtained several awards before.

Awards

2007 Gra Roku Winner.
2005 Spiel des Jahres Recommendation.
2004 Meeples' Choice Award Winner.
2004 Tric Trac d'Argent Winner.

Playable by 2 to 6 players

What more can I say?

Another great game under by Rio Grande Games.

End of the week

Well, its the end of the week again. =) Looking forward to saturday. They had been walking for 3 days and were very tired. They found a hotel, rented a room and went to sleep. Then, this old guy comes in out of nowhere, and says there is a magic pool just outside their hotel room. He tells them "Ok, you must jump off the diving board, and yell out what you wanna land in."

So the three guys go over to the pool. The first guy, a vegetarian, yells out "Bananas!" and lands in a pool of bananas. The second guy was money hungry and yelled out "Money!" and lands in a pile of money. The third guy jumps, when a bird shits on his head, and he yells "Oh Shit!"

Qualifying for Heaven

Recently a teacher, a garbage collector, and a lawyer wound up together at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter informed them that in order to get into Heaven, they would each have to answer one question.

St. Peter addressed the teacher and asked, "What was the name of the ship that crashed into the iceberg? They just made a movie about it."

The teacher answered quickly, "That would be the Titanic." St. Peter let him through the gate.

St. Peter turned to the garbage man and, figuring Heaven didn't *really* need all the odors that this guy would bring with him, decided to make the question a little harder: "How many people died on the ship?"

Fortunately for him, the trash man had just seen the movie. "1,228," he answered.

"That's right! You may enter."

St. Peter turned to the lawyer. "Name them."

Three Kicks

A big-city California lawyer went duck hunting in rural Texas. He shot and dropped a bird, but it fell into a farmer’s field on the other side of a fence. As he climbed over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him what he was doing.

The litigator responded, “I shot a duck and it fell into this field, and now I’m going to retrieve it.”

The old farmer replied, “This is my property, and you are not coming over here.”

The indignant lawyer said, “I am one of the best trial attorneys in the US and if you don’t let me get that duck, I’ll sue you and take everything you own.”

The old farmer smiled and said, “Apparently, you don’t know how we do things in Texas. We settle small disagreements like this with the Texas Three-Kick Rule.”

The lawyer asked, “What is the Texas Three-Kick Rule?”

The farmer replied, “Well, first I kick you three times and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, until someone gives up.”

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and walked up to the city feller. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the lawyer’s groin and dropped him to his knees. His second kick nearly wiped the man’s nose off his face. The barrister was flat on his belly when the farmer’s third kick to a kidney nearly caused him to give up.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will and managed to get to his feet and said, “Okay, you old coot! Now, it’s my turn!”

The old farmer smiled and said, “No, I give up. You can have the duck!”

Going back or going forward

Time passes fast when u are enjoying it.

And I have this question that I always ponder about.

If you have the chance to experience one year of yr life different from now(after which you would come back to the current time) , would u choose it to be

1) 10 years ago

or

2) 10 years from now

or

3) live out the present as it is

Its Friday again =)

Today was quite a busy day... well at least for most part of it. Was just talking to my collegue that this morning got very little. And when it reach about 10am , the crowds started pouring in. I had to multi-task for two people at a time. They were quite impatient and wanted me to help them asap so I had no choice but to help two sides at the same time. Lots of enquires today too and lots of appeal cases. I think next Monday will be worse since quite 3 of my collegues wont be there on that day.

And I wonder if my patience will run dry one day.

Had the 12-1pm lunch slot today and went to Tanjong Pagar food centre. I walked quite a big circle and decided not to eat there... there was simply no space around. Went to the nearby Amara Hotel and decided to eat subway. But the queue is too long too. And the queue is moving so slowly too. In the end , had to go eat burger king... even so, burger king also got no space to sit for dining-in and I had to takeaway my order.

Anyway I ate the Fish Soup i mentioned previously at Amoy Street Food Centre yesterday. It taste really good. No wonder there's always a super long queue for it during the 12 to 1 pm lunch slot. Luckily i bought it before the queue started forming up. The amount of fish slices is quite a lot, but the price is a bit more than other stalls that sells fish soup. But the fish soup is definitely worth that price.

Taste: 5/5
Portion 3.5/5
Price: 4/5

10 Dec 08

Hmm... been feeling slpy lately, especially in the morning. Always feel like closing my eyes but tried hard to resist it. Reminds me of the time in JC, those GP lessons, where i nv fail to be hypnotised to slp. I think the chance of me falling asleep was like 80%. Even when I tried to do homework under the table during GP lessons, I can even fall asleep. Haha... the art of hypnotising.

Hmm.. anyway, went to eat at Amoy Street FoodCourt again and as always the queue is super long for some stalls. I'm gonna try the fish soup one day, if my lunch slot happens to be the 11 am one. The queue is always so long. I will comment on it if my tastebuds ever get in contact with the fish soup.

Yup.. feeling sleepy.

Off I go.

Jokes

Some jokes to lighten up the day =)

Bar

A neutron walks into a bar and says "How much for a drink?". Because you are absolutely glowing!’
He then realizes that the voice is coming from a dish of nuts on the bar.
‘Hey,’ the guy calls to the bartender, ‘What's with the nuts?’
‘Oh,’ the bartender answers, ‘They're complimentary.’

Lost Golf Ball

A man staggers into an emergency room with two black eyes and a five iron wrapped tightly around his throat. Naturally the doctor asks him what happened.
Well, it was like this, said the man. I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife, when she sliced her ball into a pasture of cows.

We went to look for it, and while I was rooting around I noticed one of the cows had something white at its rear end. I walked over and lifted up the tail, and sure enough, there was my wife's golf ball........stuck right in the middle of the cow's butt. That's when I made my mistake.

"What did you do?" asks the doctor.

Well, I lifted the tail and yelled to my wife,
"Hey, this looks like yours!"

Don't Step On A Duck

Three women die and go to heaven. However, as they enter they are told they can do anything they want but not to step on a duck.
The women think this should be easy to do until they get in and see that there are ducks everywhere.
Within the first day one woman steps on a duck.
One of the ugliest men ever is brought to her and handcuffed to her for eternity.
On the third day, the second woman steps on a duck and is handcuffed to an ugly guy for eternity.
The third woman goes a year without ever stepping on a duck and the most handsome man is brought to her and handcuffed to her for eternity.
She asks "What did I do to deserve this great surprise?"
The man says "I don't know about you, but i just stepped on a duck."

Taxi driver

A Japanese man was in a hurry to go to the KL airport, so he took a Proton taxi.
The taxi driver took his own sweet time driving within the speed limit but the jap was getting impatient.

The following is their conversation on the way to the airport.

A Toyota Camry overtook the taxi. ZOOM!
Jap: Look, look. Toyota! very fast! made in Japan! Proton not good. Made in Malaysia.
Driver: yah.

After a few minutes a Nissan overtook the taxi. At the blink of an eye , Monday has soon fade away and Friday has set in. And I'm looking forward to a great weekend. =)

This week was great. I interacted with lots of different people and helped them with their enquires. When at the end of it, they show their appreciation with a word of 'thanks', you will realise your assistance to them goes a long way. It really makes you feel happy when you are able to answer their enquires and put a smile on their faces. =) And in actual fact, i didn't wanted to take up this job at first. I was still thinking whether I would be able to handle a cust service job. Hmm... well, at least I didn't regret my decision and I will have to thank my consultant for introducing this job to me. Maybe that's what you call finding satisfaction in your job.

I learned lots of things too. And I am still learning new things as time goes by. Some of the lessons learned from working may never be be obtained through other sources. Its really a great opportunity and valuable experience.

Anyway, I went for lunch at Amoy street foodcourt today and ate wanton mee. I would like to recommend this wanton mee stall to you all. Firstly, it's nice and delicious and comes at a cheap hawker price. For a 3 dollars order, the portion is much bigger compared to any other wanton mee I have eaten in my entire life so far. The portion of noodles is a lot such that at first glance it looks as though you have ordered a portion with added noodles. The ingredients such as char siew, fried wanton and vegetables are so much that when they are placed on top of the noodles, they almost conceal the noodles from sight. (imagine the amount of ingredients on top when the portion of noodles is already so much)

If anyone of you wishes to try the wanton mee, just tell me and maybe next time if there's a chance I can bring you all to try it. I queued up about 30 mins for it during the peak lunch period, so I guess lots of people are fan of this wanton mee stall too.

Rating
Portion: 5/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 4/5

Irobot?

Farmer builds robot army

A Chinese farmer fascinated by technology has built himself 26 robots over the past 30 years

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_EQQR6I0mJFo/STVvhNdioZI/AAAAAAAAAAs/3ca4SC_fUuc/s320/robots.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275245154874335634" />

Wu Yulu, 46, who has only a basic school education, designs the robots himself and builds them from scrap materials.

"When I was 11, one day I was sitting on the doorstep, and while watching villagers passing by I suddenly came up with the idea of building a machine that walks like a man," he told the Beijing Times.

His first robot took several years to build and could only shuffle along in small steps as it could not raise its legs.

But his designs became more and more sophisticated, and he has built robots capable of climbing walls, serving water, lighting cigarettes, playing musical instruments and writing calligraphy.

Wu, who lives near Beijing, sees all the robots as his sons, and names them according to the order in which they were invented, from Wu No.1 through to Wu No.26.

"They are all my sons, so they must bear my surname," he said.

Out of all of his mechanical 'sons', Wu says he loves Wu No.25, a robot which can pull a rickshaw, the best.

Each day, Wu No.25 pulls his inventor around the local area. Went out after work on saturday, went to Sitex. Sitex was quite a bore, not as interesting as previous IT fairs, in my opinion. But lots of people bought stuff during Sitex... well.. I guess electronics industry don't get affected by the recession, or at least not as much.

Ate a super big bowl of ramen at orchard plaza, was a really big bowl.. nearly couldn't finish it. The soup base was nice but hte noodle is not as springy as Ajisen's ramen.

Sunday was ... hmm.. boring too. Read on =)

Astronomers find hints of water on Saturn moon

Astronomers looking at the spectacular supersonic plumes of gas and dust shooting off one of Saturn's moons say there are strong hints of liquid water, a key building block of life.

Their research, appearing in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature, adds to the growing push to explore further the moon Enceladus, as one of the solar system's most compelling places for potential life.
Using images from NASA's Cassini probe, astronomers had already figured that the mysterious plumes shooting from Enceladus' icy terrain contain water vapor. New calculations suggesting the gas and dust spew at speeds faster-than-sound make the case for liquid, said study lead author Candice Hansen of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab in California. Her team calculated the plumes travel more than 1,360 mph.
Reaching that speed "is hard to do without liquids," Hansen said. While her paper offers more evidence building on what others have found, she added that her research is not the final proof of liquid water on Enceladus (pronounced en-SELL-ah-dus).
Other planetary scientists, such as Andrew Ingersoll at the California Institute of Technology, said the research is good, but that it is possible to achieve such speeds with ice particles and at cooler temperatures. So Hansen hasn't proven her case yet, he and other scientists said.

Carolyn Porco, the head of the Cassini camera team and an astronomer who didn't take part in Hansen's research, said "the evidence in my mind is building on liquid water." That moon, one of 60 circling Saturn, "has become the go-to place" for exploration in the outer planets, she said.
Europa, a moon of Jupiter, may have a liquid ocean beneath its frozen surface. But Enceladus, thought responsible for producing one of Saturn's rings, is more accessible, Hansen said. "Enceladus is sort of helpfully spewing out its innards," she said

Looking Ahead

Hmm... For this year it will be one of the biggest that happens over Canada.... Something like this radiates like a billion-watt bulb. While watching the series , I thought about a lot of things which were related to the complicated plot of Gundam Seed Destiny.

First... I will give a brief introduction to the characters and storyline of Gundam Seed Destiny:

Shinn Asuka
An emotionally troubled member of the ZAFT who moved to the Plants from the neutral nation of Orb after he lost his family in an Earth Alliance attack.

Cagalli Yula Athha
The daughter of a Uzumi Nara Athha, deceased leader of the neutral nation Orb. She is trying to follows the ideals of her father

Lacus Clyne
A popular singer with a sunny disposition who has a lot of political influence among the PLANTs, possibly more than Chairman Durandal himself

Meyrin Hawke
The youngest member of the bridge crew of the the Minerva, where she serves as a communications controller for its mobile suits.

Kira Yamato
A first generation Coordinator who works with Lacus Clyne to promote peace. He excels at mobile suit combat and uses his skills try to bring an end to the war

Athrun Zala
Son of deceased PLANT chairman Patrick Zala and a mobile suit pilot. A skilled and experienced veteran of the Bloody Valentine War, he is conflicted about his motives for fighting.

Storyline:
A peace treaty has been signed between the EARTH Alliance Forces and the ZAFT forces after the previous war which resulted in mass casualties from both sides. Cagalli, the representative of Orb, a neutral nation, was meeting Chairman Gilbert Durandal regarding the excess creation and storage of weapons and mobile suit. It was then when members of the Earth Alliance special task force known as "Phantom Pain" hijack three new mobile suits from the ZAFT armory base where the meeting was held. The Minerva , a new Battleship which has never fought any battles , along with its crew, Shinn Asuka, Athrun Zala, Rey Za Burrel and Lunamaria Hawke pursues after the stolen mobile suits and the Phantom pain. Several Coordinators which wanted revenge for the previous war, activated Junius Seven, a war memorial planet, and made it fall towards the Earth atmosphere. Although efforts were made by the Chairman and Minerva to break Junius Seven into smaller pieces and reduce the impact, the damage caused were still significant and this escalated into another massive war between the Earth Alliance and the Zaft forces yet again.

The characters' dilemma was covered in the series as they were confused over different things, such as the true intention of the war, who was the real enemy, who were they fighting against, and why were they fighting yet again.

And when i watched the series, I kept thinking.

Everyone has different points of view and opinions. Hence , who shall defines which one is right and which one is wrong? More often than not, we often try to persuade others to share our same thinking or ideals. Why? This could be that we wish to bring the situation more to our advantage or we do not wish to be 'alone'.

Different groups of people may wish for the same thing and they may share the same dreams but they may not neccesary share the same view. Their desired path to achieving the goal may be different hence the conflict between them. But I believe we should always try to consider where the other party is coming from before we actually deem them as 'negative' .

Conflicts existed before as seen from history, and I believed they are here to stay. After all, we are living in a largely democractic society where peoples' opinion are consulted.

Let's just hope that there will be peace in this world. =)

Thinking back...

Recently when i went to orchard road and vivocity, I keep seeing lots of teenagers. Then it dawned on me that O lvs are over and A lvs should be over soon, hence the pack of teenagers roaming about.. freely. I can share their happiness, their joy, their feeling of awesomeness. After all, I myself had just being freed from something long and draggy, but which is necessary.

Thinking back... about my schooling days.. I had lots of fun then. The memories of those days are definitely worth keeping and not forgetting the numberous friends I've made. I'm happy I didn't chose the wrong secondary school when I had to make a choice then.

I still remember the times during Sec 3 and 4 .. when I used to do TYS till 1 2 am... haha .. it was tough but it gave me a sense of satisfaction when I was one of the few who managed to complete them while most of my classmates cant finish them. It sorta make my class more united someway or another.

My geography teacher once said that secondary friends are the ones who will be v close friends with u which is true in the case for me. She also said JC is the most stressful part of your study 'career' and university is the most fun part. JC years is indeed stressful, though i slack a lot. I do hope she's right about the part where she said Uni is the most fun part.

As for my JC years , hmm.. what should i say? Its a good experience ... I still remember my class always play the card game 'bridge' in between lesson breaks at the cafe. We even played during in classroom during long lesson breaks and after school too. Those 'bridge' sessions were really fun and I'm actually the one who brought 'bridge' to them and taught them how to play. Slowly, somehow we sorta became addicted to it... but of course.. not at the expense of our schoolwork. Schoolwork still comes first ya.

And of course there's the CCA which i joined in JC, ODAC (Outdoor Activities Club) . We trained quite a bit every week and especially more so prior to competitions. Although I trained quite a lot for the Vertical Marathon competition... I missed that event as I went for Overseas CIP trip to Manado. Made lots of friends in ODAC too. =)

Alright ... back to the present. Nth much to say for now.. just hope that the present will be much better than the past. =)

Games I play...

Okay.. I shall introduce a new board game that I had the chance to play recently... The name of the boardgame is Puerto Rico. Yup, so here's the description.

The players are plantation owners in Puerto Rico in the days when ships had sails. Growing up to five different kind of crops: Corn, Indigo, Coffee, Sugar and Tobacco, they must try to run their business more efficiently than their close competitors; growing crops and storing them efficiently, developing San Juan with useful buildings, deploying their colonists to best effect, selling crops at the right time, and most importantly, shipping their goods back to Europe for maximum benefit.
A novel game system lets players choose the order of the phases in each turn by allowing each player to choose a role from those remaining when it is their turn. No role can be selected twice in the same round. The player who selects the best roles to advance their position during the game will win.

It's a boardgame that requires u to think a lot. Coz the tide of the game are constantly changing. Are u gonna go for a corn-heavy strategy or are you gonna go for the most expensive crop , Tobacco. Corn is the easiest to harvest with no need for processing whie tobacco and other crops require a factory to process them before you can ship them out for victory points. Every actions by another player will affect you and you have to think about your next few moves in advance.

I had lots of fun playing it with my friends and I would definitely recommend it to all of u! The gameplay is a bit complex but after playing a few times , u will get a hang of it. Anyway, it's ranked 2 at a boardgame forum and has lots of nice user reviews too. The game is for 2 to 5 players and has a average user rating of 8.37

So....If any of you go to mind's cafe or any local boardgames cafe.. be sure to check out this one!

New Beginning

Hmm.. today i woke up at 11 plus... at first saw the alarm clock show 8 plus so went to slp a bit more .. but then after 5 mins i woke up , I went to the living room and saw the main clock showing 11 o'clock. Then I realise that I've been looking at the wrong timing for the last few days.. No wonder I always feel weird every morning.

Then after breakfast.. went to surf facebook and play a bit of wc3 then while i was playing wc3.. someone from Recruit express called me.. and called me down for an interview. At first I was a bit stunned... coz I was too engrossed in the game. Imagine having to tune yr mindset from killing monsters and playing strategy to getting a job in the real world... and all that in a instant. But nevertheless, I decided to abandon the game and focus on what she has to say... After all that I told her I will be going down at around 3 to 4 pm.So I went down all the way to Raffles Place, 6 battery road , standard chartered bank building.

At first I was still looking for it after exiting raffles place MRT... then after a while then I realise I was at the bottom of the building straight after exiting the MRT.. -.- .. then I wander about for a bit before I finally went into the building. I went to look at the directory and was taking quite a while to locate Recruit Express Pte Ltd.. when suddenly the receptionist ask me whether I was looking for recruit express... I was like .. wow .. she can read my mind.. or maybe I got the 'nice-person' face ba.. haha just joking =p ... should be most visitors going there also looking for recruit express ba .. so she knows.

So I went up... then I went into recruit express... I look around and I was the only one ... ... then went down to sit by myself and fill up the form... Dunno why suddenly got a lot of people keep coming in ... maybe coz i attract them? haha .. but suddenly the place just become full. Even they have to open up the meeting room for people to write their forms inside. I waited for quite a bit before she came to interview me. Was a short one.. not as scary as I thought .. but the feeling a bit like when you are about to take SOC that type of nervous feeling.. but different in a sense.

Yup.. so i survived the interview .. and i was a bit shocked that even army also can write down as work experience .. coz in army got do scanning, printing , typing and photocopying and handle calls... talk about doing COS being a waste of time .. lol.. yup.. so to those people still in army.. volunteer for more COS duties.. can be considered as work experiences worx... haha.

Hope a job will find its way to me soon! =)

Thinking..

Yup, I've slacking these few days.. thinking about what I'm gonna do the next few months. I've submitted a few job applications, now waiting for reply ba. No rush ba .. just take one step at a time. I also waiting for tution assignments.. yup .. I was thinking of having a weekday job then maybe weekend can teach some tution.

I've been watching anime and dramas too. And I've realise just how long I have not been looking after myself. Everytime in army need to worry about this about that , do things for the platoon who won't even bother about you and always give you problems... when in actual fact you are just trying to help them. They will just give the heck care attitude and wait for you to spoon feed them. I've had enough. I'm glad all those are over, and now I can finally move on and do what I need to do, for myself.

New Feeling

Finally, Its been a long wait. Finally get to see the pink one instead of the green one. =) So.. yup, I guess another new chapter in my life shall begin.

Still quite a long way before school starts. Next year july i think. Yup, so gonna find a job and work and experience abit. Gonna look for the ones that are not too far though. Definitely not in the extreme ends of Singapore. I've been travelling to Jurong for 2 years in my JC life and another one year plus travelling to Changi side. So much so that I can even memorise all the MRT train stations on the east-west line.

Anyway, yesterday morning, when I went back to camp for the last time, I met Wen Long at Tanah Merah MRT , near the bus-stop. At first I was just waiting for my bus no 2 to come, then i saw someone spiky spiky hair which look abit like him. So I walk a bit closer but I was still unsure...until Wen Long chu some stunt which allowed me to confirm that it is him. He put both hands inside his pocket then twisted his body left and right then left and right (while staying stationary) such that his big bag swayed along. Then I took a detour and went from the back to ambush him. When he saw me , he tio stun a few secs ba. Maybe coz he was too engrossed in swaying and playing with his bag. We chatted for a while and then his bus came.

I waited quite long for bus no 2. The first one was dam crowded and I didn't even get to board. Second one came after 10 mins. Second one also dam full, but luckily I managed to board it if not must wait very long again. Reminds me of schooling days , where I used to squeeze with a lot of ppl in the morning. Maybe its time for SBS to introduce triple decker or double deck long bus since they refuse to increase the frequencies of buses in the morning.

Well, who says that the civilian world has no problems at all? There is but... I still prefer to be a civilian! ORD lo!

=)

True Friends?

I've been thinking about this for a long time and I think I have to get it off my chest.

Are friends that you made in army really true friends?

Well, I guess most of them are apparently not and dont deserve to be. When people are forced to meet and see each other almost every day or so, naturally theres bound to be interaction. Impressions are generally good at first, but as they say, time will show your true colours.
Or rather, it turns out that most people are actually wearing a mask all these time.

Well, lets start with the definition of true friends,

True friends Do Not

Irritate others for their own pleasure, fun or enjoyment

Treat others like a playing toy

Make comments behind people's back

Abuse authority just because you feel like doing it and has the ability to do so

Always Ask for your help and refuse you a favour in return when you ask for one

Spread rumours of others

Occupy your space and throw your stuff about

Dirty your stuff and leave the rest to you.

Force you to go somewhere you don't feel like going

And so much more...

Those are just the basics, I guess if they don't even know the line between playing and going overboard then I guess they don't even deserve to be your friends. If they don't even care a bit about your feelings at all, I rather I didn't meet them in the first place. At least my impression of them will still be neutral.

But I guess, many things in life are meant to be, and people are different.

Hence, the following phrase is not created without reason.

"It sucks to be you."

Jus started

Yup.. I have just created a blog.. and started playing around with it. I guess I'm still new at this thing ba.. still got lots of areas to explore de. Been wanting to blog since my JC years.. but nv got around to doing it coz partly I dunno anything about blogging and partly coz I'm super duper lazy.

Well, now that my army life is coming to an end, I guess I have more free time on hand to blog occasionally ba. Lots of things to look forward to and lots of things I wanna try out. Lots of urgent things to settle also. Seems like there just isnt enough time , isnt it?

Well, I guess that's where efficient time-planning comes into play. Talking about time-planning, I suddenly had memories of my JC life flowing through my mind. I didn't really do much time-planning then, if at all. I think I spent most of my time during JC slacking ba. But those 2 years were fun, lots of great friends and memories which I would nv forget. Time flies and I'm looking forward to uni life.

Well, I guess I'll blog till here for my first post. Will try to enhance the features of my blog a little more and link more peoples' blog to mine first b4 I actually start to tell them about my blog. No one else knows about my blog yet thus I guess this will be our lil' secret for now, just a tiny lil' secret between me and my blog. =)

will update more subsequently!

¬ Beng
